Be happy and enjoy yourself...The Bible tells me so.

So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.

A Cheerful Heart

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.

Having fun...the Bible says so

So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 8:15, NLT

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.

Six Little Stories

1.  Once all villagers decided to pray for rain, on the day of prayer all the people gathered,
but only one boy came with an umbrella.

That's FAITH

2.  When you throw a baby in the air, she laughs because she knows you will catch her.

That's TRUST

3.  Every night we go to bed, without any assurance of being alive the next morning
but still we set the alarms to wake up.

That's HOPE

4.  We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of zero knowledge of the future.

That's CONFIDENCE

5.  We see the world suffering, but still we get married and have children.

That's LOVE

6.  On an old man's shirt was written a sentence 'I am not 60 years old....
I am sweet 16 with 44 years’ experience'

That's ATTITUDE

Shared with me by Daddy W, Dr. Mary's dad who must be a twin separated at birth from my dad. They're both engineers (ask them what time it is, they'll tell you how a watch works) with a good sense of humor and a lot of love for life and for their family. Thanks, Daddy W!

Valentine's Day Love at Work

True love exists in business. It's when employee and employer are amazingly grateful to have each other. We should all have true love at work.

~Simon Sinek

 This was Beth E.'s "notes to inspire" email for the day on Valentine's Day. She sent it to the "Dream Team" because we do have true love at work.

Single Person's Prayer

In the summer of 2012, my friend Andrea (also a single person) wen to Banbury England. She brought back this postcard with a beautiful prayer. It was designed by Noreen Littleton, a member of the Guild of Gloucestershire Craftsmen, England. I don't know if Noreen wrote the prayer or did the calligraphy or both, but I love it all and need to pray it more often.

More cocktail napkin wisdom . . . this time about cocktails themselves

"Wine is proof god loves us and wants us to be happy."

New Motto

Always be joyful. Never stop praying.

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, NLT

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was today's Air1 Verse of the Day. I titled this entry "new motto," but actually, it's not a new motto. This has always been my motto, just not in these words; and I didn't know it was in the Bible. I have a new favorite Bible verse now. :-)
PS Ooops. I just noticed that this was Air1's verse of the day a year ago and I said almost the same thing when I put it in this blog back then. I obviously forgot so God sent me a reminder.
Kitchen Window Verse
Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything: tell God your needs and don't forget to thank Him for His answers
(Philippians 4:6, TLB)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A calligraphied version of this verse sat in my kitchen window at Marilu for many many years. Hank one time told me that he was in a discussion with the husband of one of his James Avery employees who happened to be in seminary. In the midst of the conversation he quoted "the only Bible verse I ever memorized . . . the one from your kitchen window." :-) It not only spoke to me, it spoke to others who shared my kitchen.

Always be joyful

"Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, NL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This came into my email box from a "scripture quote of the day" service that I subscribe to. I always like finding scripture in my mailbox to bring me back to reality. My email box is a good place for it to be because I seem to be on email all the time, so it's always a nice (though short) respite to open one up. But this one particularly jumped out at me on a day when I needed the reminder to "never stop praying." And though I strive to be both, I can always use the reminder to a) be joyful and b) be thankful in all circumstances. :-)
Destiny
What is your destiny? How will you fit into the continuing cycle of life? No one knows the whole answer to that question. You will probably accomplish more than your parents ever dreamed possible. While your destiny may not include carrying on the family line physically, part of your destiny is simply to carry out many of the traditions and activities started by your parents and grandparents. What an awesome blessing!
Miracles
It is clear that the individual whose journey in life ismore joyous, more meaningful, and more sublime, is the individual who believes in miracles.
Coincidence
How much more fortunate is the individual possessing enough awareness to recognize coincidences for what they truly are -- mysterious, magical, and awe-inspiring testimonials to God's presence in our ordinary, everyday lives. This graced individual will most assuredly be filled with spiritual optimism. She will believe that the events in her life have purpose and that-- most important of all--her very life is hallowed by sacred purpose.
7/25/08 spotted on a Facebook bumper sticker
"Do what makes you happy, be with who makes you smile, laugh as much as you breathe, and love as long as you live."
I can't find an author in my research and I can't read what's in the lower right corner of the bumper sticker. If you know more about this quote, please comment and let me know.
